Children in Need visit The Dove Inn

P1020365The Dove Inn had a lovely surprise this morning… The BBC’s Rickshaw Challenge 2015 team stopped off at the pub for a refreshing brew, compliments of The Dove.

The team, who are raising money for Children in Need, left Bristol at 2 this morning and hastily made their way across the south west of the country, travelling through Somerset and Wiltshire.

They stopped off at The Dove during day 5 of their 8 day challenge which will see them travel from Land’s End to the West End in London. The six children taking part Amira, Elliot, Erin, George D, George G and Lucy, , all with their own stories, are aiming to cross the finish line in Elstree in time for the BBC Children in Need Appeal show on Friday 13th November 2015.

One of the country’s most renowned charitable events, Children In Need have been working with The One Show, completing the Rickshaw Challenge since 2011, and in that time have managed to raise over £7.9 million with the help of the British Public.

We were lucky enough to speakP1020435
to The One Show’s Matt Baker who is cycling alongside the six children, he said, “It’s the highlight of my year, people are so generous, and we have great fun. George G one of the six children riding is addicted to musicals which we sing along to as we are pedaling along – funnily enough, the songs always seem to match the route.  The hills really are alive with the sound of music!”
